Reviving Environmental Club Activities in Schools: A new academic year to act for the Environment!

On November 27, 2024, ELHEAS officially relaunched its Environmental Club support activities at the Nal Bilingual Complex, bringing together students and mentors under a shared vision: raising awareness and training young people to become proactive guardians of their environment.
This first meeting of the new academic year brought together 22 participants, including dedicated returning members and curious newcomers eager to explore the program. The session’s objectives were to reconnect with the students, review topics covered in the previous year such as air pollution, recycling, and first aid techniques and assess their understanding. The discussions revealed a good grasp of the concepts among returning members and enthusiastic interest from the new participants to learn more

We also introduced key tools that will support this year’s activities: air quality monitoring devices, including the ATMO Tube pro, which was successfully used last year, and the Air Gradient Sensor, a new device that students will explore during upcoming practical sessions. These tools will enhance their understanding of air quality measurement and the impacts of air pollution through hands-on experiments.
To make their learning journey even more engaging, we launched an educational challenge. Divided into two groups, students will identify sources of air pollution in their immediate environment during the Christmas holidays and propose innovative solutions. The group with the most relevant and creative proposals will receive an excellence award from ELHEAS. This project aims to develop their critical thinking and transform them into true air quality ambassadors, capable of raising awareness within their communities about sustainable practices.

We extend our heartfelt gratitude to the principal of the Nal Bilingual Complex for their commitment to sustainable development education. With their support, we are fostering a generation of conscious and responsible individuals working toward a healthier environment.
